Cold-rolled carbon steel sheet is a thin steel sheet made of hot-rolled coil or plate, which is pickled at room temperature to remove the oxide scale and then rolled by a cold rolling mill. Its carbon content is generally less than 0.25%, and it has higher dimensional accuracy and surface quality. The cold rolling process causes the steel to undergo work hardening, and it needs to be annealed to restore plasticity. The final product has the characteristics of smooth surface (Ra≤0.8μm), uniform thickness (0.2-4mm), and high strength (yield strength can reach 280-500MPa). Common grades include SPCC (Japanese standard), DC01 (European standard) and 08Al (China Steel), etc., which are widely used in automotive panels, home appliance housings (such as refrigerators, washing machines), precision instruments, high-end metal products and other fields with strict surface and dimensional requirements. Compared with hot-rolled plates, cold-rolled plates have thinner specifications and better formability, but the production cost is higher, and they are suitable for precision processing and coating needs.
